Unveiling the Extravagance: Inside the Tecnomar 43.5-Meter Motor Yacht ‘This Is It’ at Monaco Yacht Show 2023

The Italian Sea Group (TISG) has unveiled the inaugural images of This Is It’s interior, which made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023. Crafted under TISG’s Tecnomar label, this 43.5-meter motor yacht garnered considerable attention while docked at Port Hercule, where it shared space with another TISG catamaran, the Art Explorer.

The owner of This Is It is Tasos Papanastasiou, a self-made Cypriot and the founder of XM, one of the world’s leading financial forex platforms. The introduction to the client was made by Michel Chryssicopoulos, the global managing partner at IYC.

This Is It’s exterior design takes inspiration from the world of sea creatures, with a hull optimized for enhanced hydrodynamic efficiency, resulting in reduced fuel consumption. It is also equipped with innovative exhaust gas treatment technology (SCR – Selective Catalytic Reduction) to minimize nitrogen oxide emissions, ensuring compliance with IMO Tier III standards. The vessel’s naval architecture is credited to Lateral Naval Architects.

With over 600 square meters of glass windows enveloping the catamaran, the challenge of weight control was significant. TISG notes that the complex, curved shape of the aluminum superstructure pushed the material’s performance to its limits. Giovanni Costantino, the founder and CEO of TISG, remarked, “The realization of this extraordinary project challenges conventional perceptions, compelling us to entirely redefine the boundaries of aesthetic parameters.”
