Chance the Rapper has a new bed and breakfast. The Grammy winner purchased a home in a Chicago suburb for $2.3 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Chance, whose given name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, and his wife, Kirsten, had apparently been renting in the area. The couple must have grown so enamoured of the Bannockburn area that they decided to look for a home there.

The couple splurged on a French country-style mansion that debuted on the market in 2012 for $3.2 million.

In 2016, the home’s price had been reduced through a series of reductions, bringing it to $2,775,000. In 2017, due to a revised pricing strategy, the price briefly increased to $2,899,999. With no buyer in sight, the asking price was reduced to $2,775,000 by the end of 2017 and to $2,595,000 in 2018.

This August, the home was relisted for $2,599,900 before Chance purchased it for an even lower price a month later. According to the Tribune, it was purchased through an LLC.

The private retreat is situated on 3.7 acres in the affluent neighbourhood of Bannockburn Brae, approximately 30 miles from Chicago.

On 925 square feet of living space, there are five bedrooms and 6.5 restrooms.

A stately foyer leads to spacious living and dining areas. There are high ceilings, hardwood floors, and multiple fireplaces. The great room has an Iowa barn beam ceiling, built-ins, and two sets of French doors that lead to the patio and pool outside.

The kitchen in the French country style features a large centre island, custom cabinetry, and granite countertops. An impressive collection of high-end appliances includes a Thermador Range, two Thermador ovens, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, and two Miele dishwashers. The adjacent, bright breakfast room overlooks the private garden.

There are a music room, library, and private office on the main floor. The studio has its own entrance. This space could possibly function as a recording studio for the singer and songwriter.

The bedrooms are located on the upper level, including the master suite with its sitting area, fireplace, and spa bathtub.

There are numerous entertainment amenities on the lower level. The recreation area features a game room, bar, fireplace, fitness centre and movie theatre.

The property is replete with a pool, patio, and natural landscaping, as well as a four-car garage.
