Jason Statham, a Hollywood action star, has just listed his cozy Malibu, California beach property for nearly $20 million. He is undoubtedly seeking a “fast and furious” sale.
Ten years ago, Statham, 52, who is best known for portraying the tough guy Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious franchise, purchased the rustic, four-bedroom Pacific-front property.
In 2009, he reportedly paid $10.6 million for the beach property. If he sells for anywhere close to the $19.95 million asking price, he stands to make a substantial profit. This represents an average annual value increase of nearly one million dollars.
The home’s allure is largely due to its spectacular location. Hidden from prying eyes behind the guarded gates of Malibu’s prestigious Colony enclave, “The Black House” stands on a private beach close to the tip of a peninsula.
The Colony has been home to A-list celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Sting, Robert Redford, and Edward Norton, as well as Paul Reiser and Larry Hagman.
The main house encompasses 3,900 square feet and has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Its exterior is black-painted cedar shingles that give it an ominous appearance. A detached guest cottage with a one-bedroom residence above a two-car garage is located in the backyard.
The recently renovated home makes the most of its most valuable asset: the breathtaking vistas of the crashing Pacific Ocean from virtually every window. The expansive decks are ideal for viewing another California sunset or surfers surfing the waves at the nearby Surfrider beach.
