Despite his impressive frankness, Snoop Dogg has a mind that works overtime. In addition to being a rapper/songwriter/producer, he is also an actor, host, director, sports coach, businessman, and winemaker. He’s not one to let grass grow – except maybe he does a little.
He was also a man of contradictions: a vegetarian who sometimes wore fur, a spiritual traveler who sometimes embraced Islam and Rastafarianism and declared himself a born-again Christian. Yet in a life seemingly full of change and evolution, there is one thing that remаins constant: cars. (Okay, two constants: cars and weeԀ.) One of his life mottos is simply: “If the flight is longer, you have to buy it.” And he bought it. Here, to mark the Doggfather’s 49th birthday on October 20, we take a look at some of the finest flying vehicles in the great man’s collection.
Pontiac Parisienne ‘Lakers Edition’ (1966)
Noel Vasquez
This beauty is tinged with sadness. When the late, great Kobe Bryant retired in 2016, Lakers fan Snoop gave him a stunning yellow and purple Lakers-themed Pontiac Parisienne, whose hood was decorated with some of the best players of all time—the team. Attendees included Shaq, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bryant himself. Remember, front, center, and taller than the rest, in a Lakers jersey emblazoned with the Superman logo, is Snoop, who has always been the shy wallflower and is about to retire. The car also has a hydraulic system installed in the trunk, allowing the car to move up and down.
Cadillac de Ville ‘Brown Sugar’ (1967)
Speaking of restraint and modesty, this car is neither. It has to be the most hip-hop thing ever: a metallic brown Caddy with a chandelier in the back seat. The trunk also features a design depicting Snoop and his two sons, Corde and Cordell, and the car has the words “Snoop Dogg” on the front of the hood. In a world where most celebrities want to travel incognito, you have to admire a man who is always eager to announce his arrival. This car is so amazing that it is even on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. There’s one thing you need to know about Snoop’s cars: most of them were customized by a man nаmed Big Slice (no surprise that’s his birth nаme), a former dealership. Crаck is a self-described 6’6″, 295 lb who has turned custom vehicles into an art form.
Buick Riviera (1968)
Snoop owns two classic Buick Rivieras. This 1968 version was the second generation of the car and was longer, wider, and 200 pounds heavier than the original. It has pink wheels (because…why not?) and appears in Snoop’s “Vato” music video. A sticker on the hood depicts (you guessed it) Snoop, with his wife and little daughter, under the words “Me and My Girls” and “Dogg’s Angels.” The latter is unlikely to become a popular nickname.
Cadillac Coupe de Ville (1968)
Another Big Slice creation, among this car’s most unique features are the decals depicting Snoop, dressed in white and joyfully praying, surrounded by his family, beneath the words “My Prime Minister.” Below are the words “Matthew 6:9-13” (The Lord’s Prayer) and “2 Corinthians 5:14-21” (I don’t know. What is that, Bible school? )
Cadillac Snoop de Ville Lowrider (1974)
Lowriders, in which a car is customized, with the body lowered so that it sits only a few inches above the road, won’t get you very far on the hilly roads or dirt roads of San Francisco in the Midwest. But in Los Angeles, it has been very popular and popular in hip-hop circles since it was adopted by Eazy-E and Dr. Dre in the 1990s. Snoop is famous for his love of lowrider culture and this car, with the lime green paint, the lime trim, and the lime green wheels is certainly eye-catching. It is also available in a remote-controlled toy version.
Snoop Chrysler 300C (2006)
In the 2000s, Snoop was hired as a spokesperson to promote Chryslers, a move that paid off as sales skyrocketed thanks to the rapper’s patronage. In gratitude, the company rewarded Snoop with a Chrysler 300C, a car so popular that everyone from Dr. Dre to Barack Obama owns it. Snoop had to build the car himself (riding in the Big Slice, of course), so he lowered it, added chrome rims, black taillights, and windows, and slapped “DUB” all over it on the windows and trunk. Overall, by Snoop’s standards, pretty restrained and modest.
Ford Mustang GT Funkmaster Flex Edition (2011)
It’s a collector’s item. Not only is it a Snoop car customized by someone other than Big Slice, but the person in question is also New York DJ, rapper, and producer Funkmaster Flex. It was Ford’s idea to have Flex customize his Mustang for Snoop and he did a great job. This monstrous car is adorned with custom Baurtwell taillights, a 3D carbon body kit, and an upgraded engine that helps the car accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.6 seconds. The metallic blue paint has white details on the hood and the windshield is decorated with “Snoop Dogg.”
Polaris Slingshot – Batman (2015)
Now let’s try something different. This cheeky little three-wheeler is a far cry from your average Reliant Robin (first, just one wheel in the back). It’s also nimble, lively, and fun, and at $26,000, it’s a bit cheaper than most of Snoop’s rides. It features a 2.4-liter EcoTec engine that produces 173 horsepower, which isn’t bad for a vehicle that weighs 1,743 pounds. It features a tilt steering wheel and side-by-side bucket seats and has been customized (of course) with chrome blue paint and a flashing purple and blue dashboard. Snoop calls it The Batmobile.
Tesla Model X (2017)
In March 2017, Snoop tweeted: “Tesla just returned my new car. » A sign that eco-automobiles are indeed here, Snoop is having fun with an electric car. Mind you, it’s easy to be impressed by this version of the Model with autopilot, air purifier, and 17-inch touchscreen. Snoop also outfitted a six-seater car for his wife and four children. Oh.
Rowland Heights School Bus
We saved Big Slice’s best work for last. Snoop coached the Rowland Heights Raiders football team in Los Angeles and, in 2004, had Big Slice buy a dilapidated school bus for $4,500. Then Slice got to work, decorating it in Oakland Raiders silver and black and kitting it out with 27 video screens, 70 speakers, two DVD players, a £90,000 stereo system, and a player VHS (whatever it is). The MVP of each game will also get to play Xbox on the bus on the way home. Needless to sаy, on the side of the bus there was also a large painting of someone throwing a ball. You’ll never guess who…
