Beyond superyacht idea investigates starry skies and frigid seas

Diana Yacht Design, a Dutch company, just unveiled its newest superyacht concept. This remarkable 60-meter (196-foot) exploreryacht, dubbed Beyond, was designed with an unprecedented integrated observatory in addition to being able to travel to any corner of the globe. Now, if that doesn’t catch your eye, maybe the submarine or snowmobiles kept in its garage would.

With a steel hull and a forward-aluminum superstructure, the Beyond Explorer is intended to be able to go through any kind of weather. The yacht’s onboard amenities also showcase its capacity to let visitors venture outside and take in the scenery come rain or shine.

Diana designer Casper Marelis tells New Atlas that it has becoming a more common occurrence to find owners looking for more isolated spots to visit. “I wanted to design an explorer yacht that embodies the tough aesthetic typical of this kind of craft. The success of the refurbished Legend, a fully classified Class 1 ice-breaking ship that was previously transformed into the only ice-breaking charter yacht in the world, is being built upon with this new explorer design.”

The seven staterooms on the yacht, which include two twin cabins, four king suites, and the owner’s apartment with a private Jacuzzi and 180-degree outlook, could sleep up to 14 guests. The roomy crew quarters have a separate cabin for the skipper in addition to room for 17 crew members.
