The 85-meter concept Slice by Feadship is unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show

During the Monaco Yacht Show, Dutch yard Feadship debuted its newest 85-meter superyacht prototype. The design, called Slice, is the eleventh concept the shipyard has ever exhibited. It is the result of considerable research and conversations with owners, designers, and architects.

Studio de Voogt is the creator of the original concept. The main feature of the yacht’s design is a long glass strip that extends from the bow to the stern, letting light pass through several levels. Lead designer Chris Bottoms and head of design Tanno Weeda of Studio De Voogt claim that Slice “turns the inside out and the outside in.”

This “slice” of glass, which completely reimagines how light might be brought inside, is the inspiration behind the Feadship concept. “A once predictable flow of spaces is abandoned in favor of a fresh approach to the onboard lifestyle,” the shipyard claims.

The 70-square-meter atrium, which is unbroken by the stairway and surrounded by tumbling circular balconies, is one illustration of this peculiar design.

A 10-meter multi-level pool is located on the aft deck of the boat, creating an area that is a cross between an open-air cabana with a view of the ocean and a beach club.
