Shaquille O’Neal’s Vision: Preparing His Daughters to Lead His $400M Business Empire

Shaquille O’Neal will do everything possible to let his daughters run his $400 million business empire in the future. O’Neal has two daughters who are still in school and he tries to bribe them into law school.

In a recent interview via Afrotech, the LA Lakers legend discussed his master plans for his daughters Amirah and Me’arah. Both girls are still in school, while O’Neal’s oldest daughter, Taahirah, has a college degree and works as an analyst for PepsiCo, Inc.

“Because out of my six people, they’re the smartest. They’re the ones who will probably run the company. So I try to bribe them all by saying, ‘Hey, come to school. Help me, and I will. ‘Give you what you want.'”

Shaquille O’Neal has six children – Taahirah, Myles, Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah and Me’arah. Taahirah is Shaq’s eldest child and the daughter of his ex-girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh.

Myles is Shaq’s ex-wife Shaunie’s first child from a previous relationship and he adopted her as his own. The 26-year-old works as a model and DJ in Las Vegas.

“He did it himself,” O’Neal said. “I’m proud of him.”

During this time, Shareef followed in his father’s footsteps and became a professional basketball player. After playing for UCLA and LSU, he retired in 2022. He played for the LA Lakers in Summer League last year before signing a lucrative contract with the NBA G League.

Shaqir, Amirah and Me’arah are all still in school and Shaq hopes that at least two of his younger daughters will become lawyers. As for Shaqir, he could also follow in his father’s footsteps and become a major player.

Shaquille O’Neal practices honorable nepotism

One of Shaquille O’Neal’s policies toward all of his children is referred to as “honorable nepotism.”

If one of his children decides to go into business, he will not finance them immediately. The LA Lakers legend wаnted them to create a business plan before approving the budget.

“Since you want me to be the bank, I’m going to do exactly what the bank would do to you,” O’Neal said. “I’m not just giving you money to throw a party.”

An example of this occurred when Myles approached Shaq and asked if he could help him become a DJ. Shaq, aka DJ Diesel, bought the equipment to help Myles and it was definitely the right decision.
