For $22 million, Dwyane Wade sold his Miami Beach home with a basketball court decorated in the colors of the Miami Heat.
Wade is involved in real estate, as is his wife, Gabrielle Union. They paid $17.9 million for a 17,000-square-foot showroom in Hidden Hills last year before selling their Sherman Oaks property for $5.5 million in May.
The $32.5 million asking price for the beachfront property is lower than the $22 million asking price, but still more than double the $10.645 million he paid for it in 2010.
The estate was transformed by the three-time NBA champion into a 12,000 square foot estate with a wine cellar, movie theater, swimming pool, cabana and private dock.
The two-story Mediterranean residence features a rustic interior with vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors, a grand covered entryway, a lush courtyard, and two stories. There are windows overlooking the bay on both floors.
The residence has a master suite with balcony and living room, six bedrooms and ten bathrooms. Wade spent most of his NBA career in Miami, so the oceanfront courtyard features a red-and-black painted basketball court, a playground and a spiral staircase.
In 16 NBA seasons, Wade, 39, was selected to 13 All-Star teams. With the Miami Heat, he won three NBA championships and the scoring championship in 2009. He purchased stock in the Utah Jazz this year after retiring in 2019.
Brett Harris of Douglas Elliman led the negotiations.
