49-meter VTOL-controlled superyacht concept shown by Max Zhivov

Renderings of a 48.7-meter superyacht concept flown by a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft have been made public by designer Max Zhivov.

Developed in collaboration with Astron Engineering and given the moniker Gravity, Zhivov describes the idea as a “multifunctional yacht that combines stylization of a superyacht and a house.” Thanks to an advanced autopilot system, the vessel may be remotely controlled and is built to automatically follow the VTOL aircraft over short distances.

The sundeck serves as an aircraft landing pad, and the modern wedge-shaped hull has a swim platform and spa pool that are flush with the main deck. A living area located midship is encased in glass, and its interior is intended to consist of moveable walls created by 3D printing.

Zhivov claimed that ideas about “recreation on the water in the future can look like”—with a focus on the tourist sector—served as the project’s inspiration.

With the “following” feature appropriate for the situation, the VTOL is a simple tool to use for exploring the surroundings and disembarking when nearing land.
