Eminem’s Daughter Hailie Jade Says She ‘Audibly Sobbed’ at Her Dad’s New Music — and ‘Can’t’ Listen Again

Eminem’s daughter reacted emotionally to his most recent endeavor.

On the August 23 edition of her Just a Little Shady podcast, Hailie Jade Scott, the 51-year-old rapper’s daughter from his previous marriage to Kim Scott, disclosed that she cried while listening to a few of the songs from her father’s most recent album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

In conversation with co-host Brittany Ednie about the August 21 release of the music video for “Somebody Save Me,” featuring Jelly Roll, 28-year-old Hailie said, “I watched it in [its] entirety and I don’t think I can do it again.”
She went added, “I cry every time I hear it at all.” I asked Brittany to mute the short commercial segment that she placed on today. Like, are you attempting to bring me to tears?
An entire verse of Eminem’s song “Somebody Save Me,” which he shares with his ex-Kim and in which he apologizes to his children, Alaina Marie Scott, 31, and Stevie Laine Scott, 22, is devoted to Hailie.

In the poignant song, “Hailie, I’m so sorry / I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital,” he raps, seemingly thinking back on significant life events that he may have missed because of his addiction problems. “I’m so proud of how you turned out, sweetie / Didn’t walk you down the aisle / Missed the birth of your first child / Your first podcast, lookin’ down.”
Hailie informed Ednie that the song made her feel something, as did “Temporary” with Skylar Grey, which the rapper said he wrote for her and included footage of her as a toddler.
