Jeff Bezos just added a Gulfstream G700 to his massive collection of “toys.” Elon Musk bought the plane in 2022 for $78 million.
According to data from JetSpy, Bezos’ latest private jet is a Gulfstream G700. Flight data suggests the Amazon founder may have taken possession of the plane in July. Business Insider previously reported that the G700 was certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in March and is worth about $80 million. In addition to Bezos, the world’s richest billionaire Elon Musk also bought a G700 in 2022.
The G700, a luxury business jet manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace, is considered one of the largest and most advanced private jets in the world today. With a maximum range of about 8,500 miles, the G700 is capable of reaching a top speed of Mach 0.925 (about 730 mph) — or about 92.5 percent the speed of sound. The G700 is said to be able to fly nonstop from New York to Japan in 12 hours.
The G700 has 20 panoramic windows and an “ultra-quiet cabin with 100 percent fresh air, purified by Plasma Ion technology every 2-3 minutes”
Public flight data shows that Bezos’ plane made 28 flights in 39 days, emitting 264 tons of carbon, or 17 times the average American’s emissions in a year, according to JetSpy.
The world’s second-richest billionaire has collected many private planes over the years. Bezos previously purchased two Gulfstream G650ERs as well as a Pilatus PC-24. With the addition of the G700, the tech billionaire now has a total aircraft collection worth more than $200 million. Bezos has also owned a hangar in Seattle since 2015.
Koru, a 420-foot superyacht, was first launched by the billionaire in 2023 on a trip around the Mediterranean. The vessel is worth an estimated $500 million and includes the support vessel Abeona.
The yacht has hosted famous guests from Bill Gates to Leonardo DiCaprio. Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez also held an engagement party on Koru last year.
Over the past year, Bezos has purchased three homes in Indian Creek Village, an island off the coast of Miami, Florida, known for its upscale neighborhoods. Other notable property owners here include NFL player Tom Brady and businessman Carl Icahn. Bezos spent $237 million on these three properties.
