The split with Bezos may have left MacKenzie Scott depressed, but it certainly made her rich, as Scott received $35.6B in Amazon stock

MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of billionaire Jeff Bezos, is the richest woman in the world.

The demand for online shopping during the CоVID-19 epidemic caused shares of Amazon, in which Ms. Scott owns a 4% investment, to rise, making her the richest woman in the world according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.

 

As of right now, Ms. Scott’s net worth is 67.4 billiоn USԀ, up 30.3 billiоn USԀ from 2019. Early in August of this year, she rose to the position of fourth richest woman globally.

 

With a $200 billiоn fortune, Jeff Bezos recently became the first billiоnaire in history, following a spike in Amazon shares to $3,403.64 last week. In only the last eight months, the stock has risen from about $2,000 to $3,500. Forbes estimates that billiоnaire Bezos currently has $204.6 billiоn in assets.

 

In January 2019, the CEO of Amazon and his spouse made an announcement about their divorce. As per the terms of the settlement, Ms. Scott was awarded 4% of Amazon’s shares, which at the time made her the third wealthiest woman globally. Bezos, the billiоnaire, is thought to have a $250 billiоn net worth if not for his divorce.
