Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk is on track to become the world’s first “trillionaire” by 2027, according to estimates from global education company Informa Connect Academy.
The forecast is based on an average annual growth rate of 109.88% for billionaire Elon Musk’s wealth.
Musk is currently the richest person in the world, with a fortune of $237 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Elon Musk has co-founded six companies, including electric car maker Tesla and spacecraft maker SpaceX. Tesla has a market capitalization of $669.28 billion, and is expected to reach the trillion-dollar mark next year. Billionaire Musk bought Twitter in 2022, then renamed it X.
In addition to Elon Musk, other billionaires who are likely to join the “trillionaires Club” in the near future include: India’s richest man Gautam Adani, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and Indonesian tycoon Prajogo Pangestu.
All three are predicted to become “trillionaires” by 2028, according to Informa Connect Academy. French businessman Bernard Arnault – Chairman of LVMH – is likely to become a “trillionaire” by 2030.
Musk first appeared on Forbes’ billionaires list in 2012 with a net worth of $2 billion. In 2021, he became the world’s richest person, replacing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Billionaire Musk lost this position to Bernard Arnault in December 2022 when Tesla shares plunged, but once again took the lead six months later.
