Born into one of the world’s wealthiest families, how must it feel? Given Jennifer, Phoebe, and Rory Gates’ development, the philanthropist-turned-Microsoft-co-founder clearly did a great job parenting with his ex-wife. Bill and Melinda Gates raised three children and their namesake charity. The former couple’s vast fortune will not be inherited by their children. Gates thinks it would be better used.
Bill Gates discussed this with Holly Willoughby on This Morning in 2017. He stated it’s more vital his kids discover their own way. However, they will remain proud and supporting parents to their three children.
Melinda and Bill Gates do everything to provide their kids a nice existence.
Willoughby challenged Gates’ suggestion that they not leave their riches to their children in the interview. It startled and divided humanity. Gates stated, “Our kids will receive a great education and some money, so they will never be poor. They’ll start their own careers,” before getting to the point.
He added, “It’s not a favor to kids to have huge sums of wealth because it distorts anything they might do, creating their own path, and this money is dedicated to helping the poorest.” Few criticize Bill and Melinda Gates’ parenting. They gave their kids fantastic opportunity, education, and a good life to pursue their interest. Jennifer Gates, their oldest, could pursue her equestrian interest with her father’s backing while Phoebe and Rory were younger.
Naturally, their parenting style reflects their belief in the risks of inherited riches. Gates, who encouraged his daughter to study medicine, purchased her an acreage in Wellington, Florida to train as an equestrian. He spent $1 million to assist her 15-year-old daughter become an equestrian.
They plan to help the globe more.
While their kids have had enough financial assistance, the wealth is used for better reasons like global charity. The charity has provided millions of US dollars worldwide to fight fatal diseases.
Among other things, it constructed the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway’s snowy landscape. This would replenish grains and food in a global disaster or hunger.
The Gates family cared about this foundation as much as anything else. Thus, their mature children travel with them, observe their efforts, and comprehend them. Gates said in that interview, “Well we are gonna leave a little bit behind”, so they shouldn’t worry about their future.
