One month before the new Wicked movie’s release date, the Kardashian family received a lavish private viewing, which sparked outrage on social media.
At the screening, which took place at Kim Kardashian’s mansion in Los Angeles, the affluent family was criticized for their “obscene level of privilege” as they posed for pictures with the movie’s stars, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
Sisters Khloe, 40, Kourtney, 45, and Kylie, 27, as well as their kids and mother Kris Jenner, 68, joined Kim, 44, for the screening, which included a green carpet entrance, a pink and green feast, and free movie memorabilia including dolls, shirts, and pajamas.
Jenner added, “Best night ever!!!” on her post. We are really grateful for the most amazing evening! We are grateful to @KimKardashian for inviting us at your home for this magnificent green carpet, and we adore you @arianagrande @cynthiaerivo @universalpictures for organizing the most amazing screening of the most amazing and EPIC movie, Wicked.
“Universal, you organized an absolutely amazing event for our entire family.” Everyone, fasten your seatbelts because this movie is going to be a unique surprise!
Fans, on the other hand, are upset that Universal Pictures allowed advance screenings for celebrities as a marketing ploy. They contend that the reality star family should not have been the first to see the movie, but rather young theater students.
Others commented: “It disgusts me that this family keeps getting things they shouldn’t have, but they get away with it because they’re wealthy.” Do you want the dress worn by Marilyn Monroe? Yes. Do you want the Wicked movie to be released a full month ahead of schedule? Why not?
“Wilful hosting a private movie night for the Kard*shians has no marketing angle other than showcasing the extreme wealth.”
“THIS.” They should have invited the Kardashians to one of their influencer screenings, like they did with Trisha, if they truly wanted them to see it, since they have no connection to theaters at all. Theater children, not snobbish billionaires, should be treated like princesses.
Why didn’t they arrange a private showing of Wicked for children in a low-income community at a musical theater school? Why the Kardashians, for example? I really don’t understand why that couldn’t have been the finest PR decision.
Your entire family did not deserve this.
“In the meantime, we regular people are trying to keep the lights on.”Not having to pay for anything must be pleasant.
“The balloons, the single-use pajamas, and everything else in the picture… It is alarming how wasteful the consumption is.
“I’m so sick of seeing wealthy people post extravagant things all the time while the rest of us are barely surviving.”
“This is embarrassing.” Every day, this family grows more disconnected.
This ad might have gone in a million different directions. Like a fundraiser for kids who aren’t given enough opportunities? Not acceptable. We simply spoil the obscenely spoiled here.
“All right guys, we have a special screening of Wicked tonight,” the founder of SKIMS stated.
We sobbed (a couple of times), laughed, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
We appreciate you joining us tonight to watch @wickedmovie, @arianagrande and @cynthiaerivo. The most enchanted pajama party
“Misunderstood because of her green skin, a young woman named Elphaba forges an unlikely but profound friendship with Glinda, a student with an unflinching desire for popularity,” is the synopsis for Wicked, which is scheduled for release on November 22.
“Their relationship soon reaches a crossroads as their lives begin to take very different paths following an encounter with the Wizard of Oz.”
