Jhené Aiko returns to her roots, exploring Detroit through Big Sean’s tiny house filled with childhood memories
Even though Jhené Aiko already owns an East Coast-style home in a gated Pacific Palisades neighborhood and her longtime partner Big Sean owns a French Normandy-style mansion in Encino, the singer recently moved into a second home in the same picturesque mountain-view neighborhood.
The Grammy-nominated R&B singer paid slightly more than $5.6 million, according to public records, for her new house.
It was built in the early 1980s but has undergone extensive renovations. It has five bedrooms and an equal number of bathrooms, and is spread across nearly 4,700 square feet on two levels.
The cream-colored stucco and terracotta-roof building, which is perched on more than a half-acre of property and secured by a new Ring Alarm system, includes a side-tucked three-car garage and a veranda with an arched gateway.
Inside, a formal living room with a two-way fireplace, custom storage, and a double-height foyer connect to a family area with a wet bar and French doors connecting to the exterior.
The main level also includes a gourmet kitchen with an eat-in island, new Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a breakfast nook in addition to the dining room with a mural.
Four bedrooms are located upstairs, including a master bedroom with a private balcony, two walk-in closets, and a bathroom with an in-room Jacuzzi.
The backyard has a sport court that has recently been resurfaced, a pool and spa that was recently added, two fire pits, and an al fresco eating area with an outdoor kitchen. It also has fruit, palm, and olive trees.
