Jeff Bezos denies holding a $600M wedding with Lauren Sanchez. Even though they’ve been in love for a long time, the Amazon billionaire can’t give his girlfriend a title, will that make her feel hurt?

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos says reports that he plans to spend $600 million on a wedding to his fiancée in Aspen, Colorado, are ‘completely false’.

“Absolutely false, there is no such thing,” Bezos wrote on social media X in response to the rumor, which was widely reported by the world’s media on December 22.

The Washington Post owner added: “The old adage ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is more true than ever in this day and age.”

The 60-year-old billionaire’s rebuttal was accompanied by a post by billionaire Bill Ackman, CEO of Pershing Square. Ackman said that $600 million could not be the amount of money spent on a wedding, except to “buy each guest a house”.

Earlier, the Mail cited a “reliable source” as saying that Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez’s wedding would take place at actor Kevin Costner’s 160-acre Aspen ranch. The wedding, which is set for this weekend, will include a mountaintop ceremony and guests will each stay in a private villa at the luxury mountain resort, the paper reported.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez reportedly began their relationship around 2018-2019 but kept it a secret until the Amazon founder finalized his divorce from his first wife, MacKenzie Scott. In May 2023, the two got engaged on Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht.

With a net worth of around $250 billion, Jeff Bezos is now the second richest person in the world, behind only Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
